The Geography curriculum at Barr’s Hill school has been designed to engage and inspire pupils through the development of geographical knowledge and skills.
The framework develops pupils intellectually as well as producing students who are real Geographers. The curriculum is pinned upon the overriding principles within Geography, and are meticulously developed throughout the key stages. Barr’s Hill Geographers believe the key geographical principles are; earth systems and process, demography, development and sustainability. Within these key principles, pupils develop the ability to apply their knowledge and find solutions to complex geographical enquires and real life scenarios as well as in unfamiliar situations. Pupils gain a world vision and understand the relationship they have with the wider world around them as well as the relationships the world has upon themselves. The Geography curriculum also ensures that pupils are well equipped with the crucial skills and knowledge that are essential for a wide range of careers.
