Politics is the broad, universal, and essential study of how governments, policies, and internal relations work.
The overarching intent of the Politics curriculum is designed to build and develop students’ understanding of how the world fundamentally operates and having a say in what your rights and responsibilities as a citizen are and should be. Furthermore, you will also better understand international politics and law. Studying politics teaches you both knowledge of the world as well as the skills needed for a successful career in politics such as debating, use of evidence to support an argument and using precedent to make an informed opinion. It’s through politics that many important questions are answered, and global challenge are addressed – including human rights, poverty, equality, and welfare.
