RE: Extreme weather update: partial school closure
With the extreme weather conditions, we have:
We are writing to inform you that following exceptionally high temperatures and a red weather warning, and a site walk this afternoon we have taken the decision to implement an early closure of the school tomorrow.
Our intention was to remain open as normal for the rest of the week, but the weather has been even hotter this afternoon and it would be unreasonable to ask students to work in these conditions, therefore, the school will be closing at 1.15pm tomorrow.
Students will have their lunch and then be dismissed by their tutors at 1.15pm
We understand some families will find it difficult to make alternative arrangements at such short notice, therefore any student who is not able to leave at 1.15pm may remain in school in the Drama Studio which is air conditioned and we will dismiss them at the normal time of 3.15pm. please do inform your child’s Hub team if you wish for your child to remain in school.
We will continue to monitor the weather tomorrow and further communication will come out about Friday’s arrangements tomorrow.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take these precautionary measures in response to the extreme weather conditions. The safety of our school community remains our highest priority.
