The Trust is passionate about building brighter futures for the young people who attend its schools, and is a rapidly growing and successful Multi Academy Trust driven by a set of compelling values:

  1. Learners First – teachers and leaders totally focused upon the educational benefit of our students
  2. It’s about learning – students, teachers and leaders focused upon developing and improving their learning
  3. No Barriers – no excuses, only support to ensure students, teachers and leaders maximise their achievement

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and proven classroom practitioner who may be interested in making a step towards middle or senior leadership. Equally a teacher new to the profession will thrive in our challenging but highly supportive environment or a role could be built around an outstanding, committed and motivated teacher to lead the development of teaching and learning or curriculum in our Humanities faculty. The ability to teach Psychology and Sociology at KS4 and KS5 would be desirable, the successful candidate will also teach across the Humanities subjects at KS3.

This is an exciting time to join Barr’s Hill School and the Futures Trust; the school is on a rapid improvement journey with clear values and a vision for exceptional learning. An ambitious and innovative teacher will thrive in this environment and will be offered plentiful opportunity for further progression and to effect real change to make a difference to students and the school. We seek an energetic hard working individual with an ability to motivate and inspire young people and staff around them. We are committed to the continuing professional development of all our staff. The school fully funds masters courses for colleagues interested and offers a range of high quality leadership development programmes and opportunities.

Barr’s Hill is an 11-18 inner city school in the heart of Coventry. Our diverse student population is one of the many strengths of the school.  At Barr’s Hill School everything we do is focused on students and learning.  Our results last summer were the most improved in Coventry and Ofsted judged us good in September.  We are looking for highly motivated colleagues to take us to the next stage.  This is a unique opportunity to work on school improvement focused on learning.  The school has been stabilised and repaired.  Now we need to transform.

This is a school in which everyone is valued and cared for. Staff have unanimously bought in to the shared common values.“

“The culture and ethos around the school is inclusive and driven towards high outcomes for all learners.”

“Staff training is highly effective and supports the school’s drive for excellence.”
