Barr’s Hill is an 11-18 inner city school in the heart of Coventry. Our diverse student population is one of the many strengths of the school. At Barr’s Hill School everything we do is focused on students and learning. Our results last summer were the most improved in Coventry and Ofsted judged us good in September 2018. We are looking for highly motivated colleagues to take us to the next stage. This is a unique opportunity to work on school improvement focused on learning.
“This is a school in which everyone is valued and cared for. Staff have unanimously bought in to the shared common values.“
“The culture and ethos around the school is inclusive and driven towards high outcomes for all learners.”
“Staff training is highly effective and supports the school’s drive for excellence.”
We seek an energetic, hard-working English Teacher with the ability to motivate and inspire young people and staff around them. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and proven classroom practitioner who may be interested in making a step towards middle or senior leadership. Equally a teacher new to the profession will thrive in our challenging but highly supportive environment. We believe in building a role around a candidate’s skills so they can thrive and make a real difference to our students. Talk to us about what you are great at, passionate about, or want to develop and we will see if it aligns with our needs.
This is an exciting time to join Barr’s Hill School and the Futures Trust; The school is on a rapid improvement journey with clear values and a vision for exceptional learning. In 2019 GCSE results placed the school in the top 2% nationally for progress made by students. We are very proud of our students but we know we can do even better and are constantly restless to ensure we give our students the best possible chance to be successful. An ambitious and innovative teacher will thrive in this environment and will be offered plentiful opportunity for further progression and to effect real change to make a difference to students and the school.
