Our Recommended Book of the Month
Mountwood School for Ghosts by Toby Ibbotson
Fredegonda, Goneril and Drusilla are Great Hagges, much more important and much rarer than regular old hags. They think that ghosts these days are decidedly lacking and that people haven’t been scared of ghosts for years. So one day they decide that something needs to change – it’s time for these ghosts to learn a thing or two about being scary. And what better way to teach them than to set up their very own school for ghosts?
Academic Enrichment To Support With Reading
Literature Society
This society takes place every Tuesday at lunchtime. Come along and talk books with our librarian and our Barrs’ Hill readers.
Reading Ambassadors
Each hub has at least two Reading Ambassadors. Stuck for a book to read? Why not chat to our ambassadors who can make fantastic recommendations. Our ambassadors also lead on lots of exciting reading events and enrichment across the school.
Coventry Inspiration Book Awards
Miss Chadwin is hosting this year’s in school judging panel. A select few students are reading this years shortlist, casting their vote and will be taking in the ‘Hooked on Books’ Coventry wide book quiz.
