As a Sixth Form student, high quality careers advice and guidance is particularly relevant to you. At Barr’s Hill School we have an experienced career adviser and expert advice is available throughout the week.

Our careers adviser provides free face-to-face support on careers, employment and training. You can receive support from our qualified adviser including:

  • career and future planning
  • interview skills
  • developing CVs
  • completing application forms
  • finding training opportunities
  • job searching

Also arranged through our careers advisors, all Post-16 students have the opportunity for:

  • Work experience
  • Extended placements
  • Visits to university/employment venues

In addition to our careers adviser there is a comprehensive tutor/assembly programme with visiting speakers providing useful information on a wide range of career related topics including university choices, UCAS, personal statements, apprenticeships, interview workshops and personal finance. At the end of the Summer term the Head of Sixth form and Careers advisors run a two to three day ‘Insight’ programme which provides students with first-hand experience of chosen career/industry sectors.
