POST-16 WORLD FOOD DAY
On Tuesday, Post-16 Select students celebrated World Food Day by bringing in homemade food. We saw a wide range of foods from different cultures and it was fantastic to see students sharing together.
World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on the 16th October in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organisation. The events taken place on these days promote worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diets for all.
World Food Day is a chance to show our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 – to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030. It’s also a day for us to celebrate the progress we have already made towards reaching #ZeroHunger.
