We are pleased that you have chosen Barr’s Hill School for your child’s educational journey. Our central aim is to provide as rich a life as possible for every student, so that our school fosters fulfillment, happiness and success; a preparation for life as a good adult in society. Working with you, to ensure that your child achieves all that they are capable of, is very important to us.
There is something for everyone at Barr’s Hill. Sport, music and drama are all strong and there are many more activities to keep pupils busy. Debating, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the National Challenge programme are all very popular.
The ethos of Barr’s Hill is built around a set of core values: being prepared, respectful, individual, determined and excellent. We provide emotional and spiritual support for our students in various ways, with PSHE presentations and assemblies, Form Tutors, School Councils and mentoring. Our aim is that pupils will achieve at the highest level in a caring and warm environment, one in which relationships between student and staff are friendly, respectful and conducive to the fulfillment of every individual’s potential.
We encourage you to contact your child’s Form Tutor if you have any questions or queries.

The Educational Psychology Service have developed a short online survey, to gather the views of children and young people about COVID 19 and the wider reopening of schools in September.
The survey asks students to list the name the school that they attend. Gathering this information will allow the Educational Psychology Service to collate information from students who attend the same school.
We would be very grateful if you could complete it: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/back_to_school_survey. The survey will remain open until 31st August.
