Dear Parents/Carers

PRIDE Showcase Day – Wednesday 3rd February 2021

Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12

We are really looking forward to our first ever Virtual PRIDE Showcase Day.  Students’ preparation is well underway and they are looking forward to discussing their proudest moments from the year so far, reflecting on their strengths and areas for development across their subjects, and showcasing their formal, academic vocabulary in their practice interview. If you have not yet made an appointment, please contact your child’s Tutor or member of their Hub to do so.

Please be reminded that years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 will not have Live lessons on PRIDE Showcase Day, but will be set assignments to complete on Teams.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight some important information regarding your PRIDE Showcase Day appointments:

  •  So that communication is as effective as possible, we ask that cameras are turned on during the appointment.
  • The appointment will be recorded for safeguarding purposes. Recordings will be stored in line with our GDPR Policy and will only be viewed if a concern is raised about the session and deleted after 30 days. If you have questions about consenting to the recording please contact your child’s Tutor or Hub team who can discuss this further with you.
  • Parents/carers must attend the appointment with their child via MS Teams.
  • If there is an unexpected loss of internet access the member of staff will attempt to complete the appointment via phone call to the parent/carer.

Please visit our website for further information and support, such as our Safeguarding Policy, Online Safety Guidance for parents, Privacy Notice and useful community support contacts.

Years 11 and 13

Years 11 and 13 will follow their timetable as normal; we would like all parents/carers to attend a virtual session on Zoom to discuss the principles and processes that will be used to inform Centre Assessed Grades for GCSE and A-Levels and to ask any questions about this. Please follow the link

here if you would like to book onto this event: https://bit.ly/38yC4hE

Year 9

During PRIDE Showcase Day, Year 9 parents and students will also have the chance to discuss their KS4 options with their Tutors.  The Year 9 Options brochure is on our website and has been posted home to parents/carers of students in Year 9.

On Tuesday 2nd February, we would like all Year 9 parents/carers to attend a formal presentation about the options process before having the chance to ask any further questions or confirm their choices at their PRIDE Showcase Day appointment the following day. You can book your place at the Options Evening through the following link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/year-9-options-evening-tickets-137284101443

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely
