The final IN IT Together session

The final IN IT Together session

Our girls come to their final ‘IN IT Together’ session. In It Together is a Sport England funded programme, supported by the Public Health team in Coventry. Aimed at providing opportunities for Women and Girls to participate in Sport and Physical Activity.

Each week, our students participated in various sporting activities and educational workshops. They were mentored by some fantastic coaches from Coventry City Football Club. As part of the ‘This Girl Can’ campaign, to get women and girls moving, regardless of shape, size and ability our students performed outstandingly in trying new sports!

One student said: “I had so much fun in the IN IT Together programme. I enjoy sports much more now!”

IN IT Together falls as part of our successful enrichment programme where students can take part in competitive sports and activities both inside and outside of school. The programme promotes the life-skills needed for everyday life, it helps develop “soft skills” that employers and universities look for, whilst also giving students the opportunity to find out more about their interests and passions.

Not only can an enrichment programme look great on a CV when students apply for higher education, jobs or
training schemes but the transferable skills learnt throughout the programme are also significant. The programme can boost self-confidence, develop leadership skills, instil self-motivation and can evidence good time-management. Away from the pressure of passing exams, enrichment extends students’ education and personal growth. It is all evidence of how a student has a wide array of skills and achievements beyond their subject grades.
