Bridge over troubled water
Around 30 students in the Bridge have set up a group called the ‘Bridge over troubled water’ whose aim is to show care for others and for our environment.
In terms of caring for others, just those in the above photo have between them raised over £400 for Comic Relief by doing various sponsored events.
For the environment, we have set up recycling stations in the Bridge and we currently recycle paper, batteries, crisp packets, cardboard (e.g. clean pizza boxes) and hard plastic (bottles, cup drink cups, straws, knives and forks etc.). We are now going to set up a recycling station in the canteen and we have also asked for a meeting with the Caterlink management about their use of single-use plastic. We all use re-usable water bottles which we are determined to keep and re-use for as long as possible. The Bridge has also gone paperless for newsletters.
