Barr’s Hill School Secure Best Ever GCSE Results

Students and staff at Barr’s Hill School are celebrating the schools best ever set of GCSE results.  Close to one fifth of the students achieved a grade 7, 8, or 9 in Maths continuing the schools long academic tradition since it was established in 1908 as a grammar school.  Students achieved top grades in a wide range of the new more challenging GCSE qualifications.

The majority of Year 11 Students now plan to benefit from Post 16 Select when taking up their 6th form place at Barr’s Hill. Post-16 Select is a joint venture between President Kennedy School and Barr’s Hill School that allows students to choose from a huge range of courses and benefit from the best teaching available in both schools.

The Star performer in GCSE this year is;

Mimi Avworo, excelled and will be one of the highest performing students in the country with eight grade 9’s (A**) and an 8 (A*). She will be going onto Post-16 Select to study Maths, Physics, Philosophy and Ethics and plans to carry on with Japanese.

Headteacher, Mr C. Jupp commented, “I want to congratulate all of our students.  I am delighted that their extremely hard work paid off and they achieved fantastic results.  The school is really proud to have achieved it’s best ever outcomes”
