Year 11 Prom
Over the weekend, year 11 students attended prom at the Best Western Plus Windmill Village Hotel. Students arrived in the glorious sunshine looking smart and presentable. Provided with a three-course meal, students were presented with humorous awards as well, Prom King and Queen.
A message from the Headteacher:
Well done to Year 11 who only have a few final exams and pieces of coursework remaining. A significant amount of hard work and effort has gone into their exams. I write the below to them specifically.
I have been blown away by the hard work, commitment and resilience you have all shown. Whilst there will be challenges ahead, Year 11 will always be one of the hardest things you have to do. Thank you for every time you came to intervention, every piece of homework you handed in, every time you dragged yourself out of bed and into school, every question answered and every ounce of revision you did. I sincerely wish you all the best in the future as you take your next steps. Some of you we look forward to welcoming into P16 Select next year, some of you will move onto pastures new to do apprenticeships or college courses.
Whatever you do next I have no doubt that you have the ability to change the world.
Buckminster Fuller (an American Architect) said this: “Never forget that you are one of a kind. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person.”
