Former Barr’s Hill Student Inspires Year 10 Triple Scientists

Clara Nellist is a former Barr’s Hill student who after studying here for seven years completed a degree at Manchester University and is currently working as a Physics Research Scientist at CERN, Switzerland on the Large Hadron Collider.  The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is by far the most powerful particle accelerator built to date. Following an upgrade, the LHC now operates at an energy that is 7 times higher than any previous machine!

Clara came back to Barr’s Hill to speak about her career path and research work to Year 10 Triple Science students.  Clara was inundated with questions about her research.  Many thanks to Clara and the Year 10 scientists that were a credit to the school.
